In My Own Little World

Constantly worried about a certain young man (identifying traits: luso-brasiliano/American, microcephaly, rather small of stature, might be seen in the Northern California area, often dresses sharply), and though I hate to infringe on his manly prerogatives, would someone pester him and keep him safe? Thank you... I have enough shady characters in my life, I know what kind of trouble could be out there...

_*-*-*_

My the skies above ZIP 95979 (39.302035,-122.511160) are so DANG BUSY this year. What gives?

_*-*-*_

I love how somebody from Sam Walton's family saw fit personally to teach me a lesson this year about the post-Upton Sinclair world of 2017, but really... Did that endeavor absolutely have to reflect on the teacher so that he or she looks like the billionaire white n*gger everyone assumes he or she is?

_*-*-*_

Oh boy... I'm sincerely worried about the lack of rain this winter, and what that means for our wildflower bounty in the coming Spring...

Per the usual, please feel free to donate to the Gofundme, PayPal or Venmo links on the right sidebar under William R. Way (or even just click through our sponsors for my AdSense...) Much obliged, and Snappy Holidays!

My Bang-On Lotto Fantasy

What would I do if I won the Super Jackpot? I've pondered this question since childhood, when my family would play the California State Lottery. If I answered it today, the first thing to come to mind is simple: retain a wealth management company's services - Transamerica's or Charles Schwab's.  And then go from there...

...Really, though, the two-acre residential/whatever-you-do-with-em lots along the road I live on are surrounded by thousands of acres of leased cattle run that's for sale. I would buy them; then I would begin attracting other investors, and such visionaries as Richard Branson to Elon Musk to Jeff Bezos, to my proposal to build a spaceport and a startup payload-and-passenger launch company. Skylon space planes, modified to launch off of rails, would fly Eastward (?) and upward to orbit three times a day on average, and there would be launch pads for Blue Origin and SpaceX, as well as a necessarily healthy-sized airport. A tiny, five by two-kilometer city, as well as a couple of agrarian hamlets, would round out the scene (there's already one reservoir, and another on the way, just over the Eastern range of mountains towards Sacramento Valley and the Interstate 5.) There should be ample room, of course, for factories that refurbish and repair and build, as well as those that refine hydrogen, and power plants... Much of the remainder of the old pasture land could still be let out as cattle run...

Reaction Engines, Ltd. (REL), Skylon Space Plane - due out in the next few years!

The rest of my outrageous fortune would be invested in a charitable trust in my name that gave to my favorite American and global social services and social justice causes, a scholarship fund, and such; I would also do my best to secure a legacy for future generations of those who carry on our last name Way...

Whew. So there you have it - I ruined any chance I have of seeing my fantasy come true!

(((---|||---)))

As ever, if you'd be so darling, there are gofundme, venmo and paypal links to the right in the sidebar under "William R. Way." Ta-ta, cheerio and all that!

BTW: Pot butter available -- just helped someone with their harvest, and I got to take some home... Made green-ass butter with which to bake edibles.  Care for half a cup?  Email or call me, or drop by... We'll discuss the finer details...

I WUZ ROBBED, MISTAH TRUMP! DAMN OBAMACARE!

Argh! Why am I up at all hours of the night? I have too much cleaning to do, house AND el carro...

"THEY'RE COMING TO GET YOU, BARBARA..." "BRAAAAINS!": So tomorrow is psychiatry with Dr. Dan -- rejiggering the regimen, as it were: antipsychotics, antidepressants... And I will talk about my continued methylamphetamine ingestion (Desoxyn? Why yes, I have ultimatums prepared for when at first I hastily and with hostility infer any hesitance to write a scrip) and pot use, as well as what we need to do to get me on Chantix so that the tobacco is a-goner. Two weeks ago, those fuckers fucking with the AT&T network and my phone, pretending to be calling from Havlir's, cost us a lot of money and continue to keep the stress at home too high, but the upside is that UCSF PHP fit me in for virtually all but a blood draw, and neurology came up as a big issue (true to her heroic, "I'm frequently in Africa" nature, my primary care physician did a rough, head-to-toe, field neurolgical assessment -- never mind about faking out that right ear -- DIANE!!! LOL -- So I'm sure Dr. Dan and I will discuss that as well... Who knows? Maybe I will yet end up at UCSF Mt. Zion (and then on to Stanford, no doubt -- GO BEARS! BERKELEY RULES!) Doc H. talks big about a CAT scan (there will always be that part of her that wishes to put my camel to bed without its dinner), but who likes magnetic resonance imaging better than a patient who's previously been snookered as to the results of one done three years prior?

And no, I wouldn't mind at all if @MissMayim consulted on my case -- I am nothing if not a devotee of the sciences... I'd just have a real, really difficult-for-once issue if I ever saw Thierry Mugler or Patch Adams (or Robin Williams in a Walgreen's red nose, for that matter) show up at my bedside -- the latter scenarios horrify for the obvious reasons...

Millennium Tower

I have a campaign to sincerely, earnestly, non-sarcastically (with a minimum of malice) and a maximum of misunderstandable Swiftian sneering to propose: I know I've touched rather unhelpfully on the leaning tower of "Sheesh, San Francisco, You Wouldn't, Would You?" That is to say, be so telling in the face of human problems like the way that seems...

Yes, my vote was not to demolish it, and leave it as a, well, there you go -- egg on all our faces as well as posterity's task. Today, I have one dollar to mail to a fund towards any collective effort among the owners of the discrete units in their efforts to right the building and maintain its habitability according to local building codes (almost anywhere in America, or even -- were Caracas subject to the laws governing legal habitability in 2017, where anyone can legally live in, say, El Torre de David, but I digress shabbily...)

I'm not sure, but the next step would be to evilly quip that I shall now send my dollar to this or that "Ha ha!" place as if a person or a person's home could be such a kind of "joke." Instead, I have this dollar for the people who have bought homes in the Millennium Tower, and that dollar will be sent forthwith to those who have overcome the other obstacles to helping those people out.

Tomorrow, Saturday, I'm sending $1 to 301 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94105 towards any fundraising efforts to make these peoples' homes habitable. Yes, I'm shitty that way, but I'll never be on the proper side of THAT bit of it.

UPDATE:  Sent $2 to Owners/Residential at that address... Couldn't hurt, might help...

There Will Be A Light

....For Anthony Hill....For Bettie Jones and Quintonio LeGrier....For Keith Lamont Scott....And for the Rhoden Eight of Pike County, Ohio (three children of the family did survive through the nightmares in their heads, and should live though they might forever be scarred....)

So many of us still live, and through this day, scores drown in the Mediterranean escaping North Africa; Athens is on fire; Cairo and Caracas bleed.

But this isn't over, and we shall overcome.

UPDATE: Just on PBS: Since 2005, 82 non-federal police officers have been charged with murder or manslaughter after having taken another's life in the line of duty....

...

I have yet to be compensated to my satisfaction by Walmart for the fact that one day, I put Clackamas meat in my mouth that never should have been sold. They still try to put on their self-indulgent little shitshow every time I come in to buy groceries, but as recently as yesterday, what did I see in the meat department but this:

I have a pretty good feeling about Doug McMillon in Bentonville, and I doubt he'd have a problem chucking the several thousand I averred would mollify me onto the NetSpend card for which I gave him and his people the routing number and account number.... Then again, he could always just donate to my GoFundMe site for these dang house renovations that are so pressing....

...

Jonesy's still missing, I'm pretty sure; it looks like somebody else dropped off a "new" cat of the same breed by our house -- one that is still under the house and has no interest in us. I hope she is altered, otherwise mom's going to have more kittens on her hands....

Sarah at the San Francisco SPCA (where Jonesy has her papers for having been altered and innoculated) asked if I had reached out to local law enforcement and animal control. I assured her that they've made clear, in both Colusa and Glenn counties, that I'm not to expect to be protected or served.... Odd man out, for some reason or another (not that I didn't try.)

Wildflowers II

More of what makes our normally unassuming two acres a real show-stopper from the road (if you're on the way West off the I-5 -- exit at Maxwell -- towards Stonyford, why not be one of the rubberneckers who slows down by our humble home? This "main attraction" on the way to East Park or Mendocino Nat'l Forest won't be blooming for long!)

San Francisco Yesterday

Fuck 4/20 anally with a broken glass bong. The City could not have been more of a headache, yet I know it was all in my head... I live only three hours away by car, but I could move back in a second...

A city worth seeing, international readers (yesterday's cheap eats -- cheap and good -- happened to be Cassava on Balboa (near 35th Avenue, South side of the street); probably no waiting for a weekday lunch, fyi...)

Mildly vertiginous @ Polk. (Ah, the storied and scandalous Fox Plaza, to the left; I lived there for almost a year in 2007 with Linda Hayes. The studio units are lovely, with laundry in them. Back in the day, it was THE Tweaker spot, home to many long-passed luminaries and other hot messes...)

That seagull is eyeballin' me at the UN Plaza fountain...

On a clear day, you can see forever. Or live in your own little world -- whatevs...

All up in The Ls, my niggas...

Hot freakshow on the 9...

Into the forest from Fulton, somewhere in the 20s...

Garden I

Much ado about our wildflowers, but here's a quick break to feature some arresting shots of cultivated flora -- you can get away with just about anything in Zone 7B so long as you're willing to water... The gingko biloba, pictured last, is the surprise breakout of the Spring!

(PS: I never explicitly mentioned it, but any readers may feel free to download images for personal use, such as FB cover photos, or for your own weird stuff. Have at! <3)

Smoke Bush

Rock Rose (Deer- and Drought-resistant!)

Azalea

21 Days 'Til Spring

Dateline: Stonyford, California...

Rosemary blossoms (sans honey bees -- warm enough, but missed them for some reason...)

Budding Bradford Pear

Unidentified local wildflower

Rainy season has almost ended (but boy, what a rainy season! Lots of standing water that's not draining away, and what about all those floods down by Maxwell? Anyway...), and it's really getting close to renovation time. Not only will we want to get under the house to get a thorough assessment of the joists and subflooring and such, we may want to double check how level we are -- do we  need to shore up the East and South sides of the house? (We could be looking at a higher fundraising goal than we thought...)

(As always, Gofundme, or send donations to: WILLIAM R WAY PO BOX 206 STONYFORD CA 95979 -- inquire at william.robert.way@gmail.com about our renovation fundraiser, or any old thing that comes to mind...)

Only 39 and Due To No Fault of Mine Another Dream Sails West...

This is the year of the Rooster, and I am a Snake in Water... Grumble -- this was supposed to be a gangbuster year for me! I'm fresh out of debt, with a clean credit history, and was just starting my savings plan so that I might travel to Mexico and to Morocco, to learn Spanish and Arabic (respectively.) But with Trump in office, how can this come to pass? Already, Iran slams its doors shut in response to our legislating America's making mandatory that we as a country all agree to commit the very sin of Sodom itself.

Ma, shou ga nai ya na...

Mr. Matt Lucas's Worst Nightmare

Somewhere above the Atlantic, on Virgin Flight 69...

MR. LUCAS: "Pardon me -- stewardess? I say, stewardess!"
FLIGHT ATTENDANT: "What can I do for you, Mr. Lucas?"
MATT LUCAS [licks lips nervously]: "May I please order the Mile High Club and a Diet Coke?"
FLIGHT ATTENDANT [chuckles cruelly]: "Sure, but I should warn you: the turkey's a little dry..."

Bored of Games

Let's face this one right out of the gate:  MONOPOLY is a fucking evil game that brings out the worst in everybody, making all the players mean and nasty -- even yours truly.

OPERATION was a ratfuck, and immediately gave me away...

I wanted to like CANDYLAND, until it just had to teach me a lesson, and became CHUTES AND LADDERS, with more chutes than ladders, and was ultimately a contrived study in diminishing returns.

Don't get me started on BATTLESHIP, an invitation to cheating and unseaworthy shenanigans.

And lastly, I completely lost it with CLUE as soon as I realized that the only redeeming character (who also happened to be the only one not deserving of prosecution and, yes, death) was none other than -- ready for it, players? -- Chilly Willy, on the front porch, with a .3 shot of peanut butter.

Games have their place in life, but life cannot be contained by games.  Why, look at the game of LIFE: like Anya Jenkins, I had a hard time swallowing the notion that children could not be exchanged for money -- so unrealistic!

Obvious, isn't it, that too many of us have for a long time now been weary of games we once fancied...
