Dear Miss Fenty...

...My name is Tigger Niglet, and I live down the road from Christopher "31 Flavors" Baskin-Robin in Storybrook, California, near the Mendocino Mountains (Surely you know of local archvillainess Clara Bell, often joked about stupidly by your fellow New Yorker Kristen Wiig? But I digress...)

I beg for things as cleverly as possible, and always have paper towels in hand with my glass cleaning spray whenever I occasion to jump on a motherfucker's windshield, but I've never been successful enough to afford your shoes -- not even in jest!

But if I could, I'd like to ask you for a pair of size 8 1/2 men's hightops, in red vermillion lacquer (maybe bits of black showing through, Japanese-style?); with Imperial Yellow soles, laces and inners? I would rock them at least twice a week for years!

I think about Mikey a lot. I think about... What if he was horribly disfigured by burn scars, like the Marine mechanics who survived that serious accidental ordnance explosion or whatever on the tarmac at Travis a few months ago? I know I'd still want him, no matter what (yes, physically...)

707 USMC Mikey, where art thou??? Waaah...

[DECISIVELY]: "Get Jason Bourne -- at once!"

ANALYST [INSTANTLY CRINGING]: "Um, ma'am, then maybe you shouldn't have initiated exclusionary protocols... Are you really sure you want to go crawling on your hands and knees to Mr. Bourne now? After all that?"

(Honestly, Leah, Jo, et alia: what the fuck do those movies *do* with Joan Allen, anyway?)

San Franciscans and guests of San Francisco who will be in the City: several tours seem to be scheduled for visitors to tour Salesforce Tower. This one is sold out (still points to a waiting list), but check around for others, or make your own not-exactly-#disrupty attempts at meandering through it. At 326 meters tall, it's a pretty notable new landmark, and who knows? In any sort of collapse event, it might be one of America's new Towers of David! Exciting, to muse on the post-apocalyptic, n'est pas?

"I SWEAR BY THE [UNINTELLIGIBLE] -- SWEAR [GRUMBLE]" Hey, it ain't Richard III. Try doing Charles II instead - but you better hurry, before he goes out the window!

Today is Sunday, and I may yet prevail upon my soon-to-be-dearly-departed-so-I-had-better-spoil-her mother to lend me the car that I may attend (Methodist? I think so...) services at the local community church -- just to be a sport, ya dig?

(Please join me in gassho, and... Namo Amida Butsu!)

She Works Hard For Your Money...

1. Perks include rosehips.

2. What? I was overly emotional, had post-nasal drip.

3. I won't be truly happy until the young man behind the "bureaucratic oversight by personnel" stamp on my 10/4/2017 letter is in my arms. (Also, I know she hates his kind, but Bishop Briggs should officiate at our dream wedding. Chuuu! <3).

4. I want to go on a road trip to Idaho... But I know who I want to see - someone who may or may not be anymore, but I have it on faith that he is and is doing well... (hex! hex! at evils...)

5. I'm trying to focus here... Also, if it takes you getting beat up to get your head out of your ass... Well, after you get here beat up, I'll fix you something to eat and you can tell me all about it...

Shopping Day in Willows (ZIP 95988)

Can't go shopping on an empty stomach...

...So fish and chips at Black Bear Diner...

...Where, by the way, the Marine Corps Reserve has a Toys For Tots campaign - be sure to drop off new, unwrapped toys! (Willows Black Bear Diner, off the Interstate 5)

Then on to Walmart...

...All the boys/Think she's a spy/She's got/Bette Davis eyes...

...AY! But they've still got this often-not-good ground beef from their Clackamas, OR interest, Interstate Meat on sale... Now in bigger sizes than EVAR! (I highly recommend against buying it, btw...)

And here we are, checking out...

...And we drive past the fall almond orchards...

...Only to arrive home, glared at by ungrateful cats...

Ahhh, dinner!

95988 ZIP (Willows, California - Just Off the I-5 Corridor in Glenn County)

Physical therapy, Black Bear Diner delish, lots of shopping, and... PHOTOGRAPHY!

Pretty painted stone, found in situ...

...Hoosegow...

...Mixed with Starbucks hot cocoa and creamer, the Guy Fieri chocolate mint for Keurig can't be beat!

Mom's all settled at physical therapy (no, she's not blind, just kind of dickin'...)

...So I head afuera...

...RILLY?

Pause for the cause.

I'm 40 and funny-looking, and in love with a dude whom I haven't seen in almost a month...

...Anyway, to the back alleys of Willows!

Historical buildings, cool shopping, and that radio tower!

REAL JOURNALISM! Tim and company really take it to the mat! A newspaper with heart and a purpose...

Dandelions make me think of drifters and weeds...

Can't go shopping on an empty stomach, and can't go wrong with Black Bear Diner - all over Northern California and Oregon!

Play Misty for me, Mom!

I've had this for breakfast, and it's pretty bomb.

The reuben is excellent, and habanero sauce goes great with onion rings, IMHO (I wanted the Waldorf, but I'd already eaten chicken salad the night before.)

I must say, despite my malingering grudge against their Clackamas-based Interstate subsidiary, the #02053 store is clean and orderly, and seldom out of what I want or need...

Check-out is often a breeze. (And our cashier was que linda!)

On the way home, we pass Thunder Hill Raceway. They have a restaurant, and a racetrack for your car. (No, they do not have Nicole Kidman in her DAYS OF THUNDER hair.)

Beautiful pastureland (a lot of Northern California looks like this, from Sonoma and Solano to Butte, really...)

...Finally, home to lovely Stonyford, California, home of the Stonyford Museum, Hester Ranch (organic! Beef!), and an entrance to Mendocino National Forest...

(Yesterday, we said good-bye to an old classmate, Chris Buchanan, who passed away due to cancer. RIP, Chris - I'll always remember you from my youth as a super stand-up guy. You will be missed.)
