...This holiday season, be sure you know what you're buying and most especially: WHO YOU'RE BUYING IT FOR. Really, if not for a significant other, i.e. a boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife, you shouldn't be buying a fragrance for another. And, buying an s.o. a fragrance can be a relationship maker or breaker - it's a big deal, so take care with that.
That said, I like Beyoncé's RISE on ME, and I'm a man. It's fruity and floral, and girly, but very certain-time-of-the-month WOMANLY, as well. One smells like one's successfully covered up one's own hot, wrong pussy. Kind of. Be careful with this scent.
Donna Karan's CASHMERE MIST smells like an old woman, and WHITE DIAMONDS by the late Liz Taylor ("These have always brought me luck," as she UNCLIPS her earrings... Man), bug spray.
I've always adored Ralph Lauren's BLACK OPIUM, as well as TIARE by CHANTECAILLE ($$$) on my own pheremone signature, but those are also mature, feminine scents - they are for a self-possessed woman or a man with the right hormone mix and native scent.
UPDATE: Prada L'HOMME, Prada L'FEMME both lovely and $$$.
These are all the scents I've reviewed this holiday season. (And really, it's better to make fragrance buying a date night: take your lover or girlfriend out for a shopping event after coffee or a light dinner during the holidays, if possible - maybe they're visiting your mom and dad with you, and there's something to do locally...?)
